Miller Welding

The Standard Behind Our Work

Based in Appleton, Wisconsin, Miller Electric has grown from a one-man operation to one of the world’s largest manufacturers of welding and cutting equipment. In 1929, Niels Milled designed a small arc welder in his basement, built from recycled scrap steel and coil windings. Smaller, lighter and less expensive, the stick welder was ideal for use on Wisconsin’s many farms. In 1935, Miller Electric introduced the first high-frequency-stabilized AC industrial welder, making welding practical in factories and construction. Almost 40 years later, Miller introduced the Millermatic, combining the previously separate power source and wire feed into a single unit, bringing MIG welding to the masses. Today, Miller continues to be a global leader and innovator in welding equipment and accessories.
